Modern day engineers need to have practical ability that is supported by theoretical understanding. You will develop existing practical skills in the workshop by fabricating complex engineering components. You will also develop knowledge and skills in health and safety, design, mathematics and CAD (Computer Aided Design). you’ll have the opportunity to visit an engineering manufacturing facility to see how they operate and the types of equipment they’re using. We’ll also invite guest speakers from industry and former students that are now at university, to tell you about their experiences working in the sector and what opportunities await you.
