Engineers play a vital role in today’s society. They contribute to the design, development and manufacture of products that allow us to do things on a daily basis that we take for granted, from talking on your mobile phone to flying on holiday on a commercial aircraft. Completion of the foundational year includes studying introductory modules aligned with the degree program and honing essential academic skills. Successful graduation of this foundational year paves the way for progression to the degree programme.

With a choice of pathways: Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering, there is a range of content from Engineering Design, Mechanical Principles & Applications and Engineering Maths to Communication for Engineers, where you’ll learn how to communicate information to your peers and colleagues. You’ll develop quantitative, digital, knowledge transfer, wellbeing, personal development, problem solving, creativity, and employability skills.
