Supporting Teaching and Learning
Summary

If you’re interested in a career working with children and young people but aren’t sure where to start, becoming a Teaching Assistant (TA) is an ideal option. The one-year Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning course is for adults who want to be employed in roles providing specialised support for pupils' learning in primary, secondary, or special schools, as well as colleges. You’ll gain the skills needed to work with children and young people in a classroom environment alongside the teacher to support whole class activities as well as working with individuals or groups of pupils. If you are already a TA at Level 1 or 2, this course will allow you to take on more responsibilities and further your career.

The qualification covers all aspects of specialist support including planning, delivering and reviewing assessment strategies to support learning alongside the teacher; bilingual support; special needs support; and personal development and reflective practice. You will be able to assist children of all abilities so each child can have an enjoyable and engaging learning experience.
