Summary

The Master of Arts in Educational Equity at Saint Louis University's School of Education is an innovative, in-residence degree program designed to serve teachers and leaders working toward equity in schools as well as education advocates who work in out-of-school contexts.

Through core coursework and collaboration with faculty mentors, students gain tools to improve in their everyday work with youth, communicate research-based best practices to diverse audiences, and work for change in collaboration with local stakeholders.

The degree requires the completion of 32 credits of coursework, including a 2-credit-hour capstone project and an oral examination. The capstone project allows students to pursue education-related issues in school or community contexts. The curriculum is designed to provide a smooth transition to the Curriculum and Instruction, Ph.D. for those who wish to continue their studies.
