Program
Spanish - Intermediate, Microcredential
Summary

The microcredential in intermediate Spanish consists of seven or nine required credit hours, depending on the courses taken. Satisfactory completion of the required courses would allow the student to develop the skills to conduct intermediate-level communication in Spanish through the acquisition of appropriate vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening comprehension, speaking capabilities and an introduction to Hispanic culture.

The microcredential in intermediate Spanish aligns with other programs in the Department of Linguistics, Literatures, and Cultures in that it is designed to help students gain a broader understanding of themselves, as well as the languages and cultures of others. This inherently fosters an understanding and appreciation for diverse perspectives and represents a crucial virtue in today's globalized world.

The microcredential in intermediate Spanish is available to all degree-seeking and non-degree-seeking students. While required courses are offered in person during the fall and spring semesters, those same required courses are frequently offered online during the summer. Thus, depending on when students take those courses, they can complete the microcredential in intermediate Spanish in person and/or online.
