Note that UCAS does not distinguish between RME (Religious and Moral Education in the non-denominational sector) and RERC (religious education in Roman Catholics Schools). The Strathclyde Institute of Education focuses on RME only.

The PGDE is a well-recognised teaching qualification worldwide and is regulated by:

  • the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS)
  • the Scottish Government
