This programme aims to provide you with a secure knowledge of the major theories, concepts and issues relating to Politics and International Relations.

You will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of a range of debates and discussions raised by past and present approaches to the subject. In addition, our aim is to equip you with the necessary skills appropriate to evaluating, analysing and interpreting both academic and practitioner approaches to Politics and International Relations.

In addition to the core module of Major Approaches to the Study of International Relations you will choose two optional modules from the range available in the Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion.

 

The Postgraduate Certificate

The Postgraduate Certificate in Politics and International Relations is likely to be attractive to those interested in higher level study but currently unable to commit to a full master’s programme.

If you successfully complete our Postgraduate Certificate in Politics and International Relations, you will be eligible to transfer into the one of three master’s programmes:

MSc Public Policy
MA International Relations
MA Politics
