Summary

An understanding of developmental disorders and neurodivergence – including conditions such as autism and dyslexia – is essential to ensure that our healthcare and educational systems can provide the support that all children need to flourish.

Our Master’s in Developmental Disorders will not only allow you to explore how humans develop neurotypically, but will also introduce you to the ways in which we vary, including how we can diagnose developmental disorders and how best to help those with developmental disorders achieve their full potential. The programme will provide an ideal foundation to pursue a future career in clinical or educational psychology by equipping you with the latest knowledge on developmental disorders ready to apply in educational or healthcare settings.

 

Who is this programme for?

Our Developmental Disorders MSc is perfect for motivated students who have completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology or a related field, or who have experience working with children in educational or health settings. In particular, this programme will appeal to students who are compassionate and enthusiastic about exploring the neurodivergences present within the human population, and how we can support children growing up with developmental disorders to ensure that they don’t get left behind.

Our comprehensive programme equips you with both theoretical knowledge and practical research-based skills that can open doors to rewarding careers in educational psychology, clinical psychology or speech therapy. You will also be prepared for applying your knowledge in special needs education or the healthcare-related sector.
